This programme provides the skills needed to plan and manage the adoption of Information & Communication Technology within organisations in the digital age. You will gain a practical understanding of the key aspects of information systems management including project management, outsourcing, governance, business intelligence, resource planning and knowledge management.
Rather than studying the technology per se, you will focus on the management and business aspects of digital innovation that are becoming increasingly important for modern organisations.
There has been a fundamental shift away from the corporate computing of the 1990s to a new era of innovation based on digital infrastructures including the internet, cloud computing and mobile technologies. These developments are producing a very different employment market for students building a career in Information Systems.
Many organisations have enthusiastically embraced what this new technology has to offer, but not all adoptions have delivered the expected results. This programme is concerned with these challenges, shedding light on how they are understood, addressed and managed, in particular within business organisations.
